Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme that allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly, and on a tax free basis.

Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax, so each £1.00 you donate will only cost you 80p.

If you're a higher rate tax payer each £1.00 donated will only cost you 60p. The taxman pays the rest!

If you are a higher rate taxpayer, Payroll Giving is the ONLY way that a charity can automatically receive all your tax on your charitable donation.

Payroll Giving (also known as Give As You Earn or Workplace Giving) is a great way to provide IDV with a regular income. This will allow us to plan more strategically, and further improve the quality and impact of our overseas projects.

If you are interested in donating regularly then ask your employer, company or personal pension provider if they have a Payroll Giving scheme.

If not, then encourage them to set one up. There are a number of different scheme providers, including Charities Trust and Charities Aid Foundation.

HMRC also publish a list of approved Payroll Giving agencies.

If you have any questions, or are an employer who wants to partner with an innovative, high impact charity, then don't hesitate to email Sarah@IDVolunteers.org for more information.
