James Dornan: Construction Project Coordinator

James has nearly ten years experience as an engineer making him ideal for the role of Construction Project Coordinator. After graduating James began his career as a structural engineer for a UK firm before deciding to join the army. Whilst in the army James served two terms in Afghanistan helping to develop local infrastructure. James left the army in 2014 upon which he made the decision to work in the NGO sector. Read more »

Paul Stewart: Project Coordinator

Paul joined IDV as a general volunteer, working on a number of projects in Nepal before becoming a Project Coordinator.

After completing school Paul took on apprenticeship as a plumber, a trade he practiced in England, Australia and France. This is Paul’s first volunteering experience but his knowledge of construction and plumbing make him a valued team member. Read more »

Anamica Gauchan: Volunteer Coordinator & Facilities Manager

Anamica first began working for NGOs after completing her Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management.

In previous roles with NGOs based in Kathmandu she gained experience working in administration, communications and volunteer coordination. In the aftermath of the earthquakes Anamica distributed vital aid to badly hit communities which gave her a deep understanding of the disasters' impacts. Read more »

Andrew Barratt: Media Coordinator

Andrew (AKA Moggy) joined the IDV team in October last year and has since been working as the team’s Media Coordinator. Prior to joining he spent little over a year working in the Legal sector before deciding on a change of career path.

Working for IDV is his first taste of disaster relief work but he has worked for NGOs on construction projects in India and Africa in the past. Read more »

Ashish Malbul: Finance Coordinator & Maintenance

Ashish, originally from Kathmandu, first came across IDV via his father who worked as security for the previous tenants of the IDV base. When IDV moved into the base in October Ashish was kept on to act as security and fixer.

Ashish had spent his years prior to joining IDV working as an apprentice electrician and mechanic in Kathmandu. He has helped us immensely in getting the base fit for volunteers as well as joining us on a number of projects. Read more »
